Arranging A Funeral

IMG_0016 dc (800x280).jpg

Today, there are many ways to conduct a funeral. We are there to advise and guide you, and our intent is to provide you with the funeral service that you want for your loved one. You can rely on our experience and knowledge.

At a time convenient to you and your family, we will arrange to meet you in your own home or in a private reception room at our Funeral Home, as you wish, to discuss your needs and requirements concerning the funeral arrangements. If you live outside of the local area, alternatively we can make the arrangements over the telephone if that suits you better.

We would advise you to check through personal papers and with any family Solicitors in case the deceased has already purchased a Pre-Paid Funeral Plan. It is also important to ascertain the contents of any Will or other Instruction as they may contain information regarding the funeral arrangements or specific wishes of the deceased.

Many families will still want a traditional service involving a religious ceremony.  However, a service can be non-religious and indeed a family can even lead its own form of non-religious service, whether a burial or cremation.  Consider also, that a funeral gives the opportunity for everyone to say goodbye to a loved relative or friend.

You can rely on us to guide you through the options open to you. We will discuss with you and explain every aspect of the funeral process so that you can make informed choices We will be there to talk you through the options, take your ideas and help you decide the most fitting form of funeral for the circumstances, and then we will make it happen for you. Whatever you choose to do, we will make it a dignified and fitting occasion.

We will verbally inform you of the estimated costs and then follow up with written confirmation of the estimated costs, detailing the proposed funeral arrangements for your approval to proceed. You can expect us to maintain contact with you so that you are assured that everything is proceeding as you would wish.

If you think that you may be eligible for assistance from the Department of Work & Pensions, we would ask that you inform us of this fact at the earliest opportunity and we can provide you with the relevant form SF200. We can also offer guidance regarding its completion. All claims for assistance from the Social Fund must be submitted within 3 months of the date of the funeral.
