Independent Funeral Directors, a family firm with a legacy of five generations dedicated to providing compassionate and individualised funeral services. Established by John William Mason in 1914, our tradition of excellence has been carried forward by each generation. In 1995, Jane Nicolson became the first female funeral director in Lancaster, and her daughter, Lizzy Nicolson, continues the family legacy, creating beautiful, reflective, and personal funerals that cater to all beliefs.
